Waste Smart is the parent company of Waste Converters Recycling and SMART Recycling, environmentally and ethically conscious companies that represent a new era in waste recycling. We view waste not as discarded material that needs to be disposed of, but rather as an important resource that can be transformed into a multitude of useful products.

Did you know that over 30 tonnes of waste is produced for every one tonne of product that reaches us as consumers? And that 98% of these products are either consumed or thrown away within six months? When you include the hidden impact of manufacturing, we each consume our own body weight in materials every two days. Scary isn’t it!

As a waste recycler we are looking at innovative ways each and every day to turn waste into worth.

At Waste Smart, over 80% of incoming waste is transformed into useful cost effective, environmentally friendly products such as SMART Soil™, SMART Mulch™, SMART Aggregate™ and SMART Recycled Timbers™.

S.M.A.R.T. is an acronym for Soil, Mulch, Aggregate and Recycled Timber. These are the main products that we are currently producing at our recycling depot.

It is our intention to act as an example of what can be done with Melbourne’s waste, most of which has been “going to waste” for far too long, entombed in landfill capsules all over the countryside.

Pick up or drop off Monday – Friday 7.00am – 4.30pm Saturday 7.00am – Noon

Our recycling depot and Industrial waste tip accepts the following industrial and household waste:
• Timber waste including pallets, crates, boxes
• Building and demolition waste
• Green waste including stumps and trees
• Ferrous and non-ferrous materials
• Foundry sand, waste soils and fill material
• Clean and reinforced concrete waste

  Excludes food waste, liquid and chemical wastes such as paints, solvents and oils, asbestos and other prescribed toxic wastes.
